About Dr. Jacob

Dr. Jacob grew up in Pittsburgh, PA. She completed her undergraduate education at the University of Pittsburgh with a degree in Psychology. She went on to receive her medical degree from the Lake Erie College of Medicine in Erie, PA. Dr. Jacob completed a year of general surgery internship and her residency in Obstetrics and Gynecology at Rutgers Health at Newark Beth Israel in Newark NJ.

Throughout her training, Dr. Jacob has been a part of a lot of education initiatives. She advocates for empowering women through education on Sexual and Reproductive Health. She believes that the role of an OB/GYN encompasses the role of an educator and enjoys educating her patients and providing detailed answers to their questions. Her professional interests include general obstetrics and gynecology with a passion for Contraceptive Counseling.

Dr. Jacob also has training in osteopathic medicine. Throughout her career she has used osteopathic manipulation therapy to treat the musculoskeletal issues of her patients. She believes that this is a helpful treatment specifically for pregnant patients with hip, back, and sciatic pain during pregnancy as pain management options can be limited in pregnancy. 

In her spare time, Dr. Jacob enjoys traveling and has been to five out of seven continents, with her favorite being trip being a cruise to Antartica. She also enjoys hiking and exploring new restaurants with her friends in the DC area.
